Terry Reid

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, was called home on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 following a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer and renal failure.  Here’s Terry’s farewell and life sketch and legacy.

I was born on February 15, 1948 in Salt Lake City. I am the oldest of two boys, myself and Rick Reid, both born to Kennett J. and Gwendolyn C. Reid. I grew up in West Jordan and I played every sport. But I especially enjoyed football and bowling with my dad. I graduated from Bingham High School. I played football at Snow College. I served a mission to the New York Cumorah Mission and played King Benjamin in the Hill Cumorah Pageant.

I married Kathy Christensen and our marriage was blessed with two sons, Matt and Chris. Kathy and I were later divorced.

I was the founder of the West Jordan High Booster Club and helped to install lighting at the football stadium. I loved to support my sons at all their sporting events, especially their football and baseball careers. I didn’t miss a game. For many years, I spent a big part of my life with my grandchildren.  I loved to take them to parks, swimming, sleepovers and Christmas movie marathons. I moved to Ogden 2007 to be closer to my family.

I married my eternal companion, Debbie Kidman on October 11, 2012. Our marriage was solemnized in the Brigham City Temple.

When I was 62, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was blessed to be a cancer survivor for the past 14 years.

I worked for Reagan Outdoor Advertising and quickly became Vice President and General Manager. I was privileged to work with many company’s advertising, including the Utah Jazz. I served on the legislative committee and small ordinance committee for OAAA – the Outdoor Advertising Association of America.  I started outdoor advertising companies called Mammoth Outdoor Advertising and Northway Advertising. I had the opportunity to travel the world through my career.

I have been blessed to share my journey in life with my wife, Debbie, a son, Chris (Maria) Reid, step-children, Toni (Mike) Crabb, Mark (Tiffany) Kidman, Steven and 12 amazing grandchildren, Chris and Maria children – Gabrielle, Sophia, Sadie Mae, Mac, and Jake, and Debbie’s grandchildren, Alissa, Angie, Ethan, Charlotte, Brooke, Lexington, and Hawthorne and a special nephew, Eric Reid. My oldest son Matthew died in 2021.
