Terry K. Lowery, 75, of Peru, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at his daughter’s home in Johnston, IA.
Mr. Lowery was born October 31, 1941 in Ottawa to Keith M. and Carolyn J. (Thompson) Lowery. He was a graduate of Marseilles High School. He married Bernadette “Bernee” Mertes on June 5, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Church in Peru.
Mr. Lowery was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member at St. Joseph’s Church in Peru. Before retirement, he worked as a foreman at Mid-America Growers in Granville. He was an avid runner and participated in 596 races in his running career. He was a member of the Starved Rock Runners Club and the Peru YMCA.
Survivors include two daughters and six grandchildren, Desiree (Vincent) Clark of Muskego, WI and their children, Cpl. Joshua Clark USMC, Alexander, Jacob and Shannon Clark and Anissa (Patrick) Bourgeacq of Johnston, IA and their children, Faith and Fiona Bourgeacq; one brother, Greg (Sandra) Lowery of Colorado Springs, CO; one aunt, Galena Lowery and several nieces and nephews, Jeffrey and Jason Fabish, Gina Ciesielski, Ryan, Dennis Jr. and Celeste Lowery and Elliott and Ian Mertes. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernee on November 27, 2013; one grandson, Declan Bourgeacq and three brothers, Keith, Dennis and Rodney Lowery.
