ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Teresia Gail Barry was born in Orlando, FL, February 10, 1958, and passed away December 18, 2012 in Orangeburg, SC due to cancer.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald R. Dameron, who also passed away due to cancer in 2011, and her brother Stanley F. Barry due to heart failure in 1989 and all grandparents.
Teresia aka “T”, grew up in Lakeland, FL, and graduated from Lakeland Senior High in 1976. She received a scholarship to Florida School of the Arts. As a charter classmate, she majored in musical theater, was offered a scholarship to Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburg, PA and studied dance, music, theater and voice. The schools she attended were amazed at her talents, and those who heard her beautiful voice enjoyed her gift. Teresia has always loved music and received her first piano for her 6th birthday, and had a band “Night Life” for many years as the leader and female vocalist, performing for many venues and booked well in advance for special holidays. She touched so many, showing love and kindness to anyone she ever met, she treasured everyone and was a very sentimental, beautiful person. A wonderful Wife, Daughter, Sister. Children were so special to her, however not blessed with children of her own, she loved her nephews & nieces as she kept them very close to her heart. With brains, beauty, charisma, and a quality person, she always held appreciation for the value of others. Teresia put her all into everything she ever did, and accomplished being the best at it all. She was employed with Lamar Outdoor Advertising for many years and earned sales person of the year several times over, including the entire company spanning many states and regions. She really loved the beach, her quality times were there with her many friends and husband, and as an expert cook & gardener.
She is survived by her parents Raymond and Evelyn Barry, sister Nancy Barry, brother Alan Barry, step-sister Cathi Worthington, step-brother Glenn Barry, 2 uncles Bill Carter of Lakeland and Walt Reynolds of Pace, FL, and many nephews, nieces and great nephews.
