Obituary of Telesforo Ramirez
RAMIREZ, Sr., Telesforo of Bay City, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Bay County Medical Care Facility, surrounded by family. He was 88 years old. Telesforo Ramirez was born on May 20, 1924 in Cotulla, Texas to the late Telesforo and Christina (Rodriguez) Ramirez. He married Josefa Ruiz; they were married for 37 years. He proudly served in the United States Navy from November 23, 1942 until July 14, 1945. He was then employed by General Motors, retiring with 28 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #18 and the Men’s Club at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Further, he enjoyed watching Tiger’s Baseball and boxing. He also loved going to the casino and going to Hooters for lunch.
Surviving are eight children: Telesforo, Jr. (Beatrice) Ramirez of Chandler, AZ, Ramiro Ramirez of Sanford, Irma (David) Zamora of Flushing, Gloria (Pascual) Robles of Free Port, TX, Yolanda Ramirez-Santoya of Bay City, Norma Borrero of Rockford, IL, Rogelio Ramirez of Seguin, TX, Rita (James) Hernandez of Saginaw; a daughter-in-law, Delores Ornelas of Saginaw; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by son, Carlos Ornelas.
