Cook, Tayo Dominic Lansing, MI passed away Wednesday afternoon September 4th, 2013. Tayo was born on May 16th 2012 in Traverse City, MI the son of Chris and Kerrie Kemp Cook. Born at 25 weeks gestation, he struggled with lung disease from prematurity. In his short time here on earth he won the hearts of many and had an incredibly strong bond with his family and friends who loved and adored him.
A few things he loved were playing with his siblings, Curious George, the Cars movie, the color yellow, music and making silly faces. Tayo was most often known as “Squishy” by his family, and “Tayo the Tiger”. He defied numerous odds and had a remarkable strong will and determination, with a smile that melted hearts, a happy personality, eyes that charmed and a soul wise beyond his years.
After a very long fight, Tayo left this world of his own will, peacefully and pain free, in his Mommy’s arms, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his infant twin sister, Jersei DaiLynn Cook and his maternal grandfather, Daniel “Russ” Kemp. He is survived by his parents; Chris and Kerrie Cook of Lansing, MI; 3 siblings, Kiley, Caiden, and Payton Cook; maternal grandparents, Alan and Teresa Themm of Parchment, MI; and paternal grandparents, Larry Barb Cook of Manton, MI; Pam Cook of Cadillac, MI; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
