We are greatly saddened to announce that our beloved son, Taylor Ryan Murrieta, age 31, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, from an inhumane act of another.
He is survived by his daughter, Selena Ann Murrieta; father, Darcy Murrieta; mother, Julie Murrieta-Holsinger; his loving siblings, Christina Holsinger, James Lee Murrieta “JD,” Nick, Brett Miars, and Tyler Eaton, “brother by choice.” Taylor was very blessed to have a lot of amazing, loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends in his life.
Taylor was born November 2, 1989, to Darcy Murrieta and Julie Murrieta-Holsinger in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he grew up and went to school. Taylor was briefly married to Michaela Murrieta-Standon in 2010, and they had one child together, Selena Ann Murrieta. Taylor loved being a dad more than anything and spent a lot of time teaching his daughter how to enjoy life. He taught her how to ride her first motorcycle, took her on her first snowboarding trip, taught her how to ride her skateboard, and took her fishing. She loved going for rides on his bike. They loved watching movies together and reading books out loud to one another. One of Selena’s favorite memories of her daddy is how he always tasted her food first to make sure it was not poisoned. He had a great sense of humor and was quite the jokester.
Taylor attended Idaho Falls High School and was part of the wrestling team, which he really enjoyed, and he won a lot of awards competing. He had a love for riding, and always looked forward to riding with his brother’s, JD and Tyler, every chance he got. He lived across the street from his mom for the last couple of years, and he would often come over in the evenings and spend time with her and his daughter. His mother enjoyed watching Taylor be a father to his little girl and being able to be part of that with him.
Taylor was a truly kind and generous person. He would often bring the homeless to his house for a shower and a hot meal. He hated to see anyone go without and would do whatever it took to make someone happy.
Taylor loved working and staying busy, and always had great ideas on how to make money. Taylor’s favorite jobs were: The Snakebite Restaurant, Rocky Mountain Cabinets, Denning’s Restaurant, and detailing cars. He enjoyed being around a lot of people joking around and being himself.
Taylor will be greatly missed by so many, but he will be missed the most by his little girl, “Pooper.”
