Taylor “T” John Gesmundo went peacefully to be with his Savior on June 2nd, 2020. He had become excited about his new faith.

Taylor was born October 11, 1988 in Kalamazoo, MI. The son of John Paul and Patricia (Bessert) Gesmundo.

He graduated from Portage Central High School in 2007. He joined the Marines in 2006 and served in two deployments, one in Afghanistan. He was proud of his service, of being a Marine. Once a Marine always a Marine. He suffered from PTSD and TBI as a result of his service.

Taylor was an avid outdoorsman and firearms enthusiast. He enjoyed carpentry work and remodeling, playing his guitar, sports, and travel. He loved his dog, Arya. He worked his way through Australia, Thailand, and other countries during one summer with a good friend. He was known for his quick grin, humor, and nonjudgmental attitude toward all those he encountered. He was kind, loyal, and committed to his many friends and beloved Marine brothers. He was courageous (he would always have your back) throwing himself into the fray to protect one of his own.

Jayson, his brother, stated “There are many things I am going to miss about my brother. One was his sense of humor whether he was telling it or taking it. We had a great time together. It ended far too soon. I love you T”.

He leaves us with an abundance of beautiful memories, but also a hole in our hearts to never be filled, an unfathomable loss.

Taylor is survived by his mother, Patty (Joe) Farnsworth, two siblings, Jayson (Katie) Gesmundo, Nikki (Robert Patterson) Gesmundo, his girlfriend of three years, Charleen Nations. Nephews, Leo and Asher Gesmundo. Aunts, Janine Bessert, Diana (Bill) Martyn, Judah (Paul Raynes) Gesmundo, Gail (Jim) Gesmundo Lyons, Maria Gesmundo, Vicki (Mike Marcinek) Gesmundo, Marymarie (Mark) Rice. Uncles, Joe (Sherry) Gesmundo, Jack (Martha) Gesmundo, Gary Gesmundo, James (Barb) Gesmundo, Jay (Michelle Libbrecht) Gesmundo. Three stepbrothers and one step-sister and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Paul Gesmundo, his wife, Andrea Armstead and both sets of grandparents. He was also preceded in death by his best friend Sammy Mashni.
