Tanita Delores Johnson (Big Nit) went home to the Lord on December 26, 2019 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. She was born on June 15, 1966 in Beacon, NY to her parents Betty L. Johnson and Floyd Lewis. She was the second youngest of five siblings. Tanita, a homemaker and life-long resident of Beacon for over fifty years. She graduated from Beacon High School in 1985; which her proud grin moment made the newspaper. She went to Dutchess Community College, where she studied computer science. She then turned her life over to the Lord and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church in Wappinger Falls, NY. Tanita held various jobs throughout her life including as a food service worker at the VA Castle Point Hospital. Tanita, was a devoted mother and had a motherly bond with many because she loved all as her own. Tanita’s favorite color was money green and her favorite music group was “Slave”. Tanita loved cooking and was well-known for her cooking.
