Sylvie (Denechere) Rice was born in Paris, France and was the daughter of Roland and Antonia (Piponnier) Denechere. She immigrated to the United States in 1964 and was a longtime resident of Sterling Heights.A loving mother, Sylvie taught her children by example how to conduct themselves. She loved reading, both fiction and non-fiction, and amassed a collection of hundreds of books. Sylvie LOVED nature and animals of all kinds, especially cats and dogs, and was never without a cat (or five) throughout her life. She was even known to have named the neighborhood squirrels she fed. Sylvie was also an avid music lover of all kinds, but held a special affinity for the Beatles, Rolling Stones and David Bowie. Sylvie leaves to cherish her memory her children: Dean Rice and (Kelly) Jennifer Rice and grandchildren: Kyle Rice and Alex Rice. Sadly she was preceded in death by her parents and a son Scott Rice.
