Sylvia “Tip” Frances Allison, 75, of Graham passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Atwell Reid Allison, Sr. and Frances Coleman Allison, both deceased. She retired from Wrightenberry Mills.
Sylvia was a talented writer which lead to the publishing of her own book, “Trading Places, Raising Mom”. Her work was featured in magazines and anthologies; written several stories for a local book “Hometown Memories”, about her memories of her childhood in Burlington, NC. She received several awards for “Outstanding Writer” in 1998 and 1999. She also loved making jewelry in the company of her grandkids all while enjoying coffee!
Survivors include three sons, Jarrett Allison (Susan), Ricky Allison (Sherri), and Jamie “Thumper” Allison; four sisters, Judy McBride, Elaine Garner, Tammy Garner, and Candie Allison; brother, Atwell Reid “Pee Wee” Allison; grandchildren, Amber, Hunter, Noah, Della, Landry, Ian, Haley, Kensley, Nolan, Jaxon, Paisley, Macey, Kiara, Kodie, and T.J.; and great grandchildren, Kenzie, Sophia, Natalie, Aubrey, Jackson and Sutton. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Vicky Allison and Janice Pontau.
