Sylvia “Sue” Cox, 86, of Virginia, IL died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 25, 1927 in Taylor County, KY, the daughter of McKinley and Letta Esther Lowe Noel. She married Donald H. Cox on November 11, 1950 in Virginia and he survives.
She is also survived by two daughters, Kay Reynolds (husband, Don) and Patti Scott (husband, Bill), all of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Mike Reynolds (wife, Julie), Paul Reynolds (wife, Amy), Melanie Reynolds, Andrea Winland (husband, Mark), Brad Scott (wife, Missy), and Kirk Scott, all of Virginia and Kelsi Cox of Goreville; 10 great grandchildren, Madison, Chloe, Briley, Hailey, Samantha, Megan, Steven, Brady, Mallory and Alex; three brothers, Terry Noel (wife, Ruby) and Jerry Noel (wife, Paula), both of Pontiac, and Harlin Noel (wife, Sue) of Chandlerville; two sisters, Betty Waterfield (husband, Chuck) of Chandlerville and Mildred Painter of Havana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Randy Cox; an infant daughter, Donna Sue Cox; an infant granddaughter, Kayla Sue Cox; a sister, Esther Reed; and four brothers, Joel, Milford, Vance and Wetzel Noel.
Sue was a graduate of Ashland High School and of the United Methodist faith. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband.
