Sylvia S. Corcoran 84, of Mansfield Center, CT entered into eternal peace on Monday, June 26, 2017 after a brief illness.

Sylvia was born on May 14, 1933, the daughter of the late Grace B. Hamilton and Step- father, Wilbert F. Hamilton. Sylvia is survived by her sister Janice Brown and family of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.    Sylvia started her family of four children with her former husband, Marvin G. Burdette (predeceased) in Somers Connecticut. Sylvia worked for the US Government following her graduation at Pittsfield High School and later worked at Somersville Mill and her last position as an executive secretary to corporate members of Combustion Engineering in Windsor Connecticut before retiring in 1985. 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of George B. Corcoran, Jr.

Surviving are her loving children, David G. Burdette and his wife Annabelle, Karen B. Zebrowski and her husband Thaddeus, Stacey B. Fulton and her husband, Jack, all of Connecticut, Duane E. Burdette and wife Gigi Burdette of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Surviving grandchildren, Jennifer, Isabel, Daniel, Michael, David, Andrew, Johanna, Evan, Ethan and her great-grandchildren, Micah and Jacob.  She is also survived by her cherished dog “Tommy”.   

Sylvia loved being by the ocean, boat trips and her many lobster dinners at Barnacle Billy’s during her annual trips to Ogunquit ME.  She was an avid reader and loved anything pertaining to history. She traveled extensively with her late husband George who introduced her to downhill skiing.  Later in her life, she discovered Kayaking.  Her greatest joys were being with her family or quietly sitting by the cozy warm fire with her dog by her side.
