Sylvia J. (Sears) Whitaker, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017.
She was born August 14, 1940, to Leonard and Melda Sears in Indianapolis. Sylvia worked as a bus driver for Perry Township School for 35 years. Sylvia enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: Rhonda (Kevin) Puckett of Franklin, IN, and Greg (Christy) Whitaker of Martinsville, IN, five sisters: Lucille Goodin of Somerset, Joann Coyler of Somerset, Barbara Mullins of Somerset, Linda Price of Somerset, and Kay Sears of Somerset, two brothers: David Sears of Somerset, and Gary Sears of Somerset, seven grandchildren: Daniel Puckett, Ashley Puckett, Laura (Donny) Kirkpatrick, Kaleb Whitaker, Cierra (Remus) Key, Bella Whitaker and Anniston Shrout, and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Darwin, her parents: Leonard and Melda Sears, and sister Connie Eversole.
