Sylvia F. Carr, 81, Anderson, passed away on December 23, 2021, at the Community Hospital Anderson.
She was born on September 19, 1940, to Jesse and Mary Ferguson. Sylvia was a 1958 graduate of Anderson High School. She retired from General Motors and Culligan after many years of service. Sylvia was an active member of South Meridian Church of God where she participated in the Stephen Ministry, Share Group, and other ministries. She also loved to read. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and selfless person who always cared for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Larry Carr, her parents, and her brother, Ted Ferguson. Sylvia is survived by her children, Jill Modlin (Kent), Sandusky, MI, Joy Mitchell (Micah), Anderson, Larry J. Carr (Susan), Huntington, IN, and Perry Carr (Donna), North Carolina; her grandchildren, Nicholas Modlin (Jen), Davison, MI, Benjamin Modlin (Alexis), Saginaw, MI, Jacob Modlin, Caro, MI, Joshua Derrickson, Anderson, Kayleigh Carr, Huntington, IN, Aaron Mitchell, Anderson, and Tiler Carr, Huntington, IN; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Kay Sigler (Jim), Alexandria; her brother, Ronald Ferguson (Jo), Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews; and her close friend, Dan McCarty, Anderson.
