Suzanne Michele Heacox, 68, a longtime Deming resident passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at her home after a heroic more than four-year struggle with cancer.

Born in Glendale, California, on January 19, 1946. Moved to Deming in 1986 from Dayton, Ohio. Here she was a homemaker and also worked at the old J. C. Penney’s Catalog Store and for Mom’s Flowers. She, at times, belonged to quilting and gardening clubs and was a gifted crafter, doing macramé, and stained glass, as well as quilting and sewing. She also gardened and canned.

She is survived by Don Heacox, husband of nearly 45 years; son, Dana and his family and wife Maeva, and daughters, Juliette, Brisa, and Adaya; daughter, Renee and her husband Waldo Winborn, and daughter, Stacy and her husband Balzas Batyka. Also survived by a sister, Linda Westley, and a brother, Ron.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents Ellen Westley and Frank Westley, both of which she helped to care for.
