Susan Viola Simmons, age 74, of Blacklick, Oh., passed away on February 11, 2017 at Grant Medical Center. Susan was born February 4, 1943 to the late William and Hazel (Katz) Hamerdinger in Washington D.C. She was a member of the Red Hats, the American Legion and an active leader in the Girl Scouts. Susan is survived by her loving husband, Wilmer Simmons; children, Wendy, William, Robert Simmons and Melissa (Patrick) Holt; grandchildren, Julia, Breanna, and Cassandra Simmons, Cameron, Victoria and Taylor Holt; brother, Stephen Hamerdinger; nephew, David Hamerdinger; nieces, Diane, Debra and Erin Hamerdinger. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law; David (Peggy) Hamerdinger.
