Susan Marie Marquardt, 60, went to be with her Lord and Savior September 24, 2017. Born January 10, 1957 at USMC base Quantico, VA, she was the daughter of Janet Elloise Hurline Marquardt of Rockledge, FL and the late Sgt. Maj. Fred H Marquardt, Sr.
Susan was a 1975 graduate of Westminster High School, received her RN degree from Catonsville Community College and was a nurse at Bayada Home Health. Growing up she lived on numerous U.S. Marine Corp. bases and continued to love to travel as an adult, especially her trips to Israel. She enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts, fossils, reading and traveling. To comfort her family, she often had occasion to tell them “Things like this just happen.”
Besides her mother, she is survived by sister Regina Marquardt (Chris Fox) of Annandale, VA, brother Fred H. Marquardt Jr. (Cheryl) of Springfield, VA and sister Anna Schuster (Chuck) of Westminster, MD. She was a loving Aunt Sue to niece Shannon Taylor and nephews Stefan and Heath Marquardt, Ryan, Nicholas and Cailean Grossnickle and Chris Fox, Jr. She is also survived by many great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by nephew Geoffrey Grossnickle and grandparents Howard and Lena Hurline and Herald and Myrtle Marquardt.
