BUCKNER, Mrs. Susan L.. Mattawan, MI. Died Sunday morning August 29, 2010 at her residence. Susan was born August 11, 1924 in Decatur, Michigan a daughter of John and Zelma Stafford Underwood. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with the Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital for 20 years before retiring.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry F. Buckner on December 13, 1989; a grandson, James “Jay” Pitts; a brother, John; and 3 sisters, Marva, Ramona, and Marilyn.
She is survived by 4 children, Dorothy Roosevelt Howard of Pahrump, NV, Lorraine Buckner-Pitts of Sydney, Australia, Wendy Buckner of Mattawan, and Harry Doretha Buckner of Indianapolis, IN; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Janice Underwood of Archer, FL; a sister, Francis “Pat” Williams of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
