Susan ( Suzi) Breen Brenner 68 passed away at her home in Clinton, NC on April 16, 2015.

She was born on December 5, 1946 (a Mother’s day that year) in Bronxville, New York and is the daughter of the late John Buckley Breen and Marion McCabe Breen.

Suzi’s family included 3 older sisters and the family lived in Scarsdale and Rye, NY. When Suzi’s older sisters left the nest the Breen family moved to London England for five years. The family then returned to live in Mclean VA. Suzi’s schooling included Scarsdale and Rye public schools, Marymount School in London and VA, Centenary Junior College in NJ and Berea College in Kentucky. At Berea she learned the crafts she loved so much including the skill of rug weaving and perhaps, the skill of living a simpler life.

In 1984 she apprenticed to a well-known rug weaver in Kingston N.Y., shortly after that while in Kingston she met and fell in love with Al Brenner, the man to whom she would devote the rest of her life. She is predeceased by her husband, Al who died in 2012.

Susan is survived by her three sisters: Joan Breen Molloy of Whispering Pines, N.C., Marcia Hutton of Vero Beach, F.L., and Loris Breen of Asheville, N.C., numerous nieces, nephews and cousins of the Breen and Brenner family.
