WASHINGTON – Sue E. Moore, 85, of Washington, IL, passed away at 1:45 P.M., Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.

Sue was born on April 10, 1931, the daughter of Everett and Nora Roland. She married Udell Moore on August 25, 1947 in Corinth, MS.

Surviving are her husband of Washington, IL; one son David (Sharon) Moore of Pekin, IL; one daughter Sue (Carl) Lehman of Washington, IL; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons Edward O’Neal Moore, and Ron Moore; one brother Casey Roland; two sisters Ruth Moore, and Zelda Dye; and 1 granddaughter Michelle Moore.

Sue was an amazing woman with a smile that could light up any room. Everyone that was fortunate enough to be in her presence could instantly feel her gentle nature. Sue loved her husband more than anything in the world. She would often reminisce about their early years of dating, in which Udell would save a seat next to him on the school bus for her. They clearly found their soulmates in one another at a young age. Their love continued to flourish year after year throughout their marriage. She also loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-children immensely.

Sue worked at OSF for 18 years as a dietary consultant. In her free time Sue was an avid gardener, and a great cook. She also loved to sing, and had the voice of an angel. She would frequently break into song while diligently working around the house. Sue would often sit and tell stories to her family members of days passed.
