Steven Reynolds, age 62, of Algona passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Kossuth Regional Health Center. Steven J. Reynolds, the son of Richard and Jean (Winter) Reynolds, was born on March 1, 1958 in Algona. He graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School in 1977. On October 10, 1981, Steven was united in marriage with Julie Thilges at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Steven was employed by Algona Marine selling guns until his retirement in 2019. He was previously employed by Cowan’s Lumber Yard, Brayton’s Chemicals, Algona Vault Service, Balchem in Whittemore. Steven served as a Reserve Police Officer for 10 years. He loved following the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Steven enjoyed Charlie Brown, going camping, hunting, being outdoors, and woodworking. He loved gun collecting and made knives. In his boy’s younger days, Steven served as a Cub Master and little league coach. Steven loved his family; especially his grand-kids. Golf carting them around was his favorite. Left to cherish Steven’s memory are his wife of 39 years, Julie of Algona; children, Todd (Ashley) Reynolds and their children, Adeline, Harold, Josephine, Charlotte and Henry of Algona and Troy (Christa) Reynolds and their son Theodore of Boone; his parents, Richard and Jean Reynolds; sisters, Linda (Ron) Monson of Irvington, Betty (Gary) Fiddler of Estherville, Sue (Craig) Hanson of Laurens and sister-in-law, Brenda (Darrin) Hannover of Whittemore and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernice and Lyle Reynolds and Grace and William Winter; father and mother-in-law, Gerald and Becky Thilges and aunts and uncles. Memorials may be made to the Algona Reserve Police Department in honor of Steven.
