Steven Bumeter, 69, of Metamora, IL passed away quickly and peacefully on Thursday March 7, 2019 while preparing his fleet of snow plow trucks to salt roads.  He was born on January 9, 1950 in Peoria, IL to Harold and Geraldine (Garrison) Bumeter.  Both preceded him in death.

Steve met his future wife Cynthia (Armstrong) Bumeter on a blind date going to the Metamora High School Homecoming. They married in Bettendorf, Iowa on July 16, 1970. They had sons Brett Bumeter and Troy (Tracey) Bumeter. Steve had five grandchildren Corbin, Zoe, Zachary, Mya and Grayson.

Steve loved to buy, sell, and trade, especially cars and electronics. He founded Steve’s CB. He was an intuitive mechanic of anything with an engine. He drove a semi truck and trailer and worked as a mechanic of cars, trucks, and boats.

You could feel and hear his enthusiasm for each new opportunity. He put his heart into each client project and compliments would light him up.

Steve had a big heart and was quick to help employees, clients, and families in need. His mind never stopped thinking of things that could help people. He was gifted at buying clothes for his wife Cindy and surprised her with new cars every couple months.

His adventures and exploits with friends and family and loved ones were only barely eclipsed by his animated storytelling and tall tales.
