Mr. Lawrence served in the National Guard, and was the engineering manager for GKN Aerospace in Muncie.
He enjoyed listening to his son’s musical performances, playing Texas Holdem, riding his Harley-Davidson, fishing, traveling, and bowling.
Steve was a member of the Eastern Indiana Snowmobiling Association and various bowling leagues in the past.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Hornback Lawrence, to whom he had been married twenty years; his son, Mike Lawrence; his mother, Martha Lawrence-Kleeman, (husband, John), West Chester, Ohio; his brother, George R. Lawrence, (wife Lora), Longmont, Colorado; his sister, Tara Waller, (husband, Mike), Muncie; his aunt, Judy Lawrence, Dayton, Ohio; his uncle and aunt, Leonard and Mary Stevens, Anderson; his sister-in-law, Debbie McLaughlin, Lafayette, his brother-in-law, Larry Hornback, Amite, Louisiana; his step-mother-in-law, Sarah Hornback, Muncie; and his nieces and nephews, Samantha Lawrence, Snow Camp, North Carolina, Heather Oelslager, (husband, Darrin), Muncie, Donnie McLaughlin, (wife, Selena), Georgia, Chris McLaughlin, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kimberly Stamp, Madison, Wisconsin, Jillian Stamp, Greeley, Colorado, Christina Stamp and Rebecca Stamp, both of Longmont, Colorado; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, George M. Lawrence; his brother, Richard Eugene Lawrence; his sister, Merri Christina Lawrence; his uncle, Joe Stevens; his aunt, Sally Stevens; his father in-law, Weston Hornback; his mother-in-law, Sylvia Frazier; his step-father-in-law, Melvin Frazier; and his brother-in-law, Donald McLaughlin.
