Steven David Philhower Sr., 66, born on June 11, 1948 to Albert and Ella Mae Philhower went to this heavenly home on June 22, 2014 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Aleen Creamer Philhower, and children Steven David Jr. (Melissa Woodring), Johanna (Ted) Maple, and Joshua Philhower. He is Grampy to Jackson and Ellie, Sam, Jonah, and Adam. Survived also by siblings Ray (Mary), Charles (Bonna), Shirley Retzler and Carol (Bob) Taylor, many nieces and nephews, by spiritual parents, Mary Anne and Don Herman and by Jeremy Dewitt, Yvette Gonzalez, Monica Taskey who called him Dad, and so many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving in-laws Alfred and Nora, brothers Jack, Russ, and Paul, and sister Dottie.
Steve served in the U.S. Army (11th Armored Cav.) He was awarded a bronze star for bravery in Vietnam. He was a loyal employee of Sutherland Lumber Co., Clark Products, and The Home Depot.
