Steve Nordtvedt, 51, of Dayton Township, formerly of Grand Ridge, died October 4, 2012 at his home.
Steve was born on February 24, 1961, in Ottawa, to Willis and Doris (Luce) Nordtvedt. He worked 31 years for Klines Bus Service, Ryder and First Student Transportation, and was currently the Director of Maintenance/Safety for Illinois Central School Bus. He married Denise Batistini on March 6, 1982 at First Baptist Church in Ottawa. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Grand Ridge JC’s.
He is survived by his wife, Denise of Dayton Township; two children, Stephanie (Brandon) Diss and Christopher (Janelle) Nordtvedt both of Ottawa; his mother, Doris Nordtvedt of Deer Park; two grandchildren, Addison and Emmalyn Diss; a brother, Greg (Erica) Nordtvedt of Kenosha, WI and a sister, Cindy (John) Smothers of LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis; his maternal grandparents, Claude and Ruth Luce and his paternal grandparents, Ingvald and Ella Nordtvedt. Pallbearers will be Bruce Barr, Tim Wright, Steve Cooke, Jon Cooke, Teddy Rodden and T.J. Godar.
