Stephen V. Panus, 65, of Wareham, passed away on Saturday, August 7th, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Terri E. (Raymond) Panus. Loving father of Chad Hathaway of Yarmouth, Cyra Hathaway of Bellingham, and Joleen Panus of Idaho. Grandfather of Faith, Talia, Emerson, Kaidyn, Cullen, Saige, and Pyper. Brother of Michael Panus, Trisha McColgan, and the late Christine Pietrowski. Stephen is also survived by his Godson Seth Panus, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his first nephew the late Ryan Amiro.Stephen was born in Boston on October 10, 1955, son of the late Chester and Mary Lou (Butler) Panus. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and then in the Army National Guard. Stephen made his career as a mechanic and arborist. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was taught these hobbies by his father and grandfather, then proudly passed them on to his children and grandchildren. He was at his happiest when he was with family and friends either casting a line or scouting the woods following tracks. Stephen was the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back to help anyone.
