Stephen Leo Miller, 72 of Centralia passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Stephen was born November 26, 1940, in Metropolis, Illinois, the son of James L. Miller and Mary Lawanda (Walters) Miller.
He married Sharon Goodman and they later divorced and she survives in Centralia. He then married Sharon L. Murray on April 19, 1974, at Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife of 39 years, he is survived by a son, Kevin S. Miller, and wife Annette of Centralia; two daughters: Rhonda R. Brown of Centralia and Shannon L. Miller of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren: Andrew Miller, Brittany Miller, Kerri Hawley and husband Adam, Matthew Miller and Cade Miller all of Centralia; three great-grandchildren: Addison Hawley, Ameila Hawley, and Brenden Bosler all of Centralia; a brother: David N. Miller and wife Sharon of Centralia; two nephews: Brian Miller and wife Darla of Centralia and Greg Miller and wife Tammy of Centralia.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Stephen worked on a Dredge Boat for the Army Corps of Engineers. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Centralia Moose Lodge and loved to play golf. Most of all he loved spending time with friends and family.
