Stephen James Zappas, 68, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Monday May 23, 2022 while in the care of St. Luke’s Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Mary Catherine “MC” (Mckenna) Zappas, with whom he shared over 32 years of loving marriage. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late James and Evelyn (Dekrone) Zappas. Steve was a graduate of Upper Merion High School. He worked for Chubb Insurance for over 30 years until retiring in 2012 as an Assistant Vice President. He was an avid Penn State and New York Jets Football fan and New York Yankees Baseball fan. Steve had a love for New York City and the finer things in life. He enjoyed reading, listening to music, especially rock and roll as well as Indy Car and racing. Steve was proud of his Greek Heritage and Greek Orthodox Faith. Above all, Steve was proud of his sons and his family was everything to him.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife MC, he will be remembered by his sons Alex Zappas and his fiancé Brooks Young of Hoboken, NJ, Jackson Zappas of Manhattan, NY, Jason Zappas of Jacksonville,FL and Tim Zappas and his wife Joellen of Plaistow, NH; brothers Andrew Zappas and his wife Diana of Amelia Island, FL and Chris Zappas of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren Stephen, Charleigh, James and Dean “Dino”; loving nephew and recipient of Steve’s kidney, Drew Zappas of Atlanta, GA as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
