Stephen James Reckart, 67, of Lancaster, PA, died peacefully at the Veteran’s Medical Center Hospice in Lebanon, PA, on July 31, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents James Ward Reckart, Aileen (Phares) Reckart Bonafield and his step father, James H. Bonafield.
Steve was a graduate of Kingwood High School. He served with the US Navy in Vietnam after high school. He then earned an Associate’s degree in Business at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA. He worked as a printer for various companies in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. He was an athlete all his life, loving baseball and golf. He was an avid sports fan supporting WVU and the Boston Red Sox.
He is survived by his son, Clinton Reckart and one granddaughter, Farrah, of Lancaster, PA. Additional survivors are his sister, Nanette (Hal) Reckart Eaton of Myrtle Beach, SC; a half brother, Rodney (Carla) Bonafield of Cape Coral, FL; three step sisters, Dorothy Snyder of Maryland; Jean (John) Bolyard of Fairmont, WV; Jill Bonafield White of Morgantown, WV; one step brother, Jack Bonafield of Kingwood, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel; 295 South Price Street, from 10:00 a.m.
