Stephen Francis Verosko, 83, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Hospice Home of Alamance- Caswell County in Burlington, NC. Born August 15, 1934 in Ambridge, PA, he was the son of the late Stephen and Anna Verosko, and was the proud son of a coal miner. He grew up in Ellsworth, PA, and was the beloved “baby” brother to his older sister, Florence, and his twin sister, Stephenie, who both preceded him in death. After serving in the Air Force, he spent many years helping to develop radar technology. His contribution toward building NASA’s deep-space tracking network played an integral part in the Apollo lunar landing missions. Later in life, he was a respected businessman in Manassas, VA. His success allowed him to enjoy travelling with his family throughout the U.S. and Europe. He particularly enjoyed skiing and golfing with his children and grandchildren. Stephen leaves behind his children, Steve Verosko, and wife, Elana of Gainesville, VA, and Katherine Nininger, and husband, David of Liberty, NC; six grandchildren, Sarah Nininger, Lauren Nininger, Ben Nininger, Stephen Verosko, John Verosko, and Christoher Verosko; and one great-grandchild-to-be, Emma Rose Dinwiddie.
