Stephanie Ann Layfield, 65 of Lost Creek passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on March 27, 1957 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late William “Bill” Snyder and Julia Ann Moffett Hayhurst and her husband, Roy Hayhurst.
Stephanie graduated from South Harrison High School, Class of 1976 and also from Clarksburg Beauty Academy. She was an Insurance Specialist with Physicians of Bridgeport. She was an avid NASCAR fan and animal lover. She enjoyed scrapbooking and going to her grandson’s sporting events. She was apart of the Lady’s Auxiliary of Lost Creek. She also participated in the South Harrison Alumni Band for several years. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas.
Stephanie is survived by husband of thirty-nine years, Page Duane Layfield of Lost Creek; daughter, Stacia Nicole Gaines and husband Roger, Weston; two grandchildren, Adam Marple and Brantley Gaines; one brother, William Buzzy Snyder and Debbie, West Milford; mother-in-law, Anna Lea Bragg Layfield, Clarksburg; brother-in-law and sister-on-law, Beth Hudkins and Rezin III, Clarksburg; nieces and nephews, Rezin IV and Kristin, Nutter Fort, Brandon and Sara, Spelter; great niece and nephews, Tripp and Asher, and Tessa; one aunt, Becky Morrison, West Milford; best friends, Karin Wilt, Philippi, Cathy Floyd, West Milford, and Brenda Shields, Mount Clare, several cousins and her special cat, Mika.
In addition to her parents and stepfather, Stephanie was preceded in death by her father-in-law, George “Sonny” Benton Layfield; and brother-in-law, Patrick Benton Layfield.
