Stefan “Steve” Nemeth Jr., 88, of Dalzell, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Nemeth was born October 31, 1928 in Oglesby to Stefan and Frances (Dvornic) Nemeth. He married Lois Fenza on August 6, 1949 at St. Thomas More Church in Dalzell.
Mr. Nemeth was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He was a carpenter for over 40 years and was a member of the Slovene National Society. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include three children, Steven Nemeth of Naples, FL, Lynn (Craig) Carlson of Rockford and Paul (Lori) Nemeth of Ladd; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one sister, Marie Rimmele of Peru. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois on February 4, 2017 and two sisters, Anne Schmidt and Fran Kirbach.
