August 27, 1931 – January 4, 2005

Stanton Sponsler, of Boerne, died January 4, 2005 at the North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio after a short illness. He is preceded in death by his father Amick Sponsler and mother Marie Stanton Sponsler. He is survived by his wife, Ila Sponsler and 5 children: Fawn Ames of Corpus Christi, Texas, Susan Beck of Highlands Ranch, CO., Henry Sponsler of Los Fresnos, Texas, Donald Sponsler of Uvalde, Texas and Wendy Simpson of Los Fresnos, Texas and Nine Grandchildren. Also, two sisters Lenore Warden of Gilmer, Texas and Nancy Byram of Bandera, Texas. He was born in Muskogee, OK. Aug.27, 1931. He moved to Houston and graduated form Milby High School. Served 4 years in the Air Force, Settled in the Rio Grande Valley as a farmer, electrician and cotton gin owner. After Retiring he did volunteer work with the Texas Baptist Men. Stanton then moved to Boerne, Texas in 1997 where he was a member of the Boerne First Baptist Church and Gidens.
