Stanley R. Mack, age 82, died peacefully at his home, with his loving family by his side on January 31st, 2021.
He was born on June 29th, 1938 in Schoolcraft, Michigan, the youngest son of Return and Eunice (Swinehart) Mack, born into a family of nine children.
Stan attended Kalamazoo Central High School and graduated from Mattawan High School. After graduation, he entered and proudly served the United States Army. While he was in the Army, Stan was a sharpshooter and a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Battalion.
Upon returning to Michigan from his active duty, Stan was set up on a blind date where he met and fell in love with Ethel Beeke. They would eventually marry and would spend the next 53 years of marriage together.
Stan spent most of his professional life as a product manager at Beach Products, retiring in 1999. Stan was a member of Calvary Reformed Church for 80 years and he lived his life as a shining example of his strong Christian Faith.
Stan was an avid lover of all sports. You would often hear him cheering for the U of M Wolverines, the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions. His true passion was his love for the game of golf. He was a very gifted golfer and he would play anytime and anywhere he got a chance.
Later in life, as a proud vet, he took a trip to Washington D.C. with his fellow Veterans through the Talons Out Honor Flight. He was moved beyond words to visit all of the Veteran Memorials and it was a trip that he would forever cherish.
In the last few years, following some health obstacles, Stan’s love and devotion for Ethel was witnessed by everyone as he compassionately cared for her.
Above all, Stanley’s heart belonged to his family, especially his grandchildren and supporting them throughout their lives. Stanley’s family includes his wife Ethel Mack, his children: Benjamin Mack, Amy (Rick) Johnson and Sara Mack; his precious grandchildren: Tyler Johnson, Mykayla Johnson, Gail Mack and Elizabeth Holfeldt. His brother and sisters included: Patricia Block, Lois Maxson, Charles Mack, Caroline Russell, David Mack and Howard Mack and many nieces and nephews.
