Stanley Nye Scott, a devoted family man and respected professional, passed away after an illness on July 19, 2024. He was 60 years old. Stan was born on April 29, 1964, in Gary, Indiana, to Joyce Safranek Scott and Charles Nye Scott. He spent his early years in Gary and later moved to Clifton, Virginia. Stan was a proud lifelong resident of Clifton, VA. He grew up in a loving home with his two brothers Chris and Mike and his parents Joyce and Charlie. Stan was a dedicated and selfless friend to many, but his greatest and proudest accomplishment was his children, Kyle and Alyssa. Stan attended Clifton Elementary School and Robinson High School, graduating in the class of 1982. He attended Ferrum College but decided he wanted to have a career in the electrical field; Stan left Ferrum and completed the IBEW electrician apprenticeship, later becoming a Master Electrician. Stan later formed Apex Electric Service, Inc. and became a highly recommended electrical contractor in the community. Stan played the piano and the trumpet; he was first chair of the Robinson Middle School band of which he was still proud 45 years later. Stan loved fishing, dogs, the Washington Redskins and was a passionate and accomplished gardener. He spent many happy hours in his garden, producing a bumper crop of tomatoes. Stan loved recounting stories of his childhood in Clifton riding bikes on Clifton Road, sledding the hills and running through the neighborhood. Stan had many happy memories of the penny candy and hanging out with his friends at Davis General Store. He was a beloved member of the Clifton community. Stans other happy place was in the Outer Banks of North Carolina where he had a second home in the boating and fishing community of Colington Harbour.
