Stanley Edward Kuhrt, the son of Edward John and Ruth Johnson was born July 23, 1922 in Chisolm, Minnesota. He served his country in the U.S. Navy form 1940-1947 on a submarine during WWII.

Stanley was united in marriage to Dolores J. Stewart.  They lived in Colfax, Iowa from 1950-1953 in 1953 they moved to Newton, Iowa. Stanley worked for the Maytag Company for 38 years and was a supervisor in the factory at the time of his retirement.  He was a member of the Emerson Hough Chapter-Izaak Walton League, American Legion Post 11 and the Elk’s club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.  Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Dolores; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Roxy and Kent Gross of Ottumwa, Iowa and Toni and Doug Morris of Newton; his four grandchildren, Niki Nemec and husband, Darin of Mitchell, South Dakota; Alyse, Cameron and Rachel Morris of Newton; and his sister, Betty Wilson of Mitchellville, Iowa.
