NOTRE DAME – Born in Baltimore, Md., Sister Francesca entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross 22 years later. She taught both elementary and high school students in Eastern schools. After earning her doctoral degree in education she advanced to college teaching and administration, and served for 23 years at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Ind. Patricia Seitz, United States District Court judge, expressed gratitude to Sister Francesca who, she said, “was a role model of logic, serenity, insight and wisdom.” Reception of the body and wake service is today, February 26, 2014, at 4 p.m., with Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. All ceremonies in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto.
