Sister Joseph Maureen Szarek RSM, age 85, died peacefully at McAuley Convent, in Merion Pennsylvania on Sunday January 23, 2022.Sister Joseph Maureen taught primary grades in the dioceses of Richmond Virginia, Allentown Pennsylvania, Havelock North Carolina and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. In 1989 she received an associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology from then Gwynedd Mercy the next 30 years Sister Joseph Maureen ministered at her beloved Mercy Philadelphia Hospital as an ekg technician. Patients, medical staff, and personnel loved and respected her. They came to look forward to her gentleness of presence and the twinkle in her eyes. She will be greatly missed by her sister Maryann Szarek SSJ and her friends.
