Sister Joan Zlogar died on July 14 in Mother Theodore Hall. She was born on April 10, 1930 in Joliet, IL to John and Frances Stiglin Zlogar.
Sister Joan entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Providence on July 22, 1950 and was given the name Sr. Joseph Bernard. She professed Final Vows Jan. 23, 1958.
Sister Joan loved social interaction, both one-on-one and in large groups. She was a faithful friend to many. A woman of deep prayer, she brought a loving concern to all she met as well as an active concern for people suffering from injustice or misfortune.
Sister Joan is survived by a brother, James Zlogar of Arlington Heights, IL. She is preceded in death by a brother John (Jack) Zlogar.
