Mr. Gregory was born in Monticello, AR and was raised and educated in Bastrop. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Gregory of Killeen, TX; four sons, John Thomas Gregory, Sr. of Pasadena, TX, Michael S. Gregory of San Diego, CA, Steven B. Gregory of Haughton, LA, Madison H. Gregory, Jr. of Houston, TX; two daughters, Betty A. Perry of Houston, TX, Elizabeth G. Gregory Hall of Bossier City; step-son, Bill Holder of Livingston, TX; two step-daughters, Debbie Sue Rolirad of Dayton, TX, Mary Ann Castor of Milan, IL; twenty grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Gregory.
