HYDE- Sophie Terentieff Hyde, age 86, of Margaret Lane, Orange died July 12, 2007 at the Lord Chamberlain Manor, Stratford. She was born on March 6, 1921 in Bridgeport to the late Constantante (Constantin) and Teckla (Theresa) Scimblik Terentieff. Her entire life was dedicated to the love of her family. She served as “First Mate” to her late husband, Howard Hyde, sharing their love of the sea on Long Island Sound and the Housatonic River. She lived in Stratford most of her life before moving to Orange 7 years ago. She was married to her beloved husband, Howard William Hyde, July 9, 1939. She is survived by her loving daughter and husband, Lynn and Jim Garrand of Orange, Grandsons Mathew & wife Sara Garrand of New York, Jeffrey Garrand of Orange, Jason & wife Carolyn Hyde of New Preston and John Hyde of Bethel; granddaughter Jaime Toney of Rhode Island; great-grandson Brandon Garrand and great-granddaughter Megan Toney. Besides her late husband, she is predeceased by her son Jeffery Storm Hyde, sisters Ann Strogie and Nettie Satmary; brothers Sergei, Nicolas and Gustav Terentieff.
