Sophie Golas, 65, of Farmington and formerly of Newington, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at John Dempsey Hospital. Born in Poland on April 4, 1950, Sophie was the daughter of the late Boguslaw and Helena (Pultorak) Lubomski and the beloved wife of 47 years to Stanley Golas. Sophie immigrated to the United States as a teenager with her family. She was a faithful communicant of S.S. Cyril and Methodius Church in Hartford and Sacred Heart Church in New Britain and worked in retail sales for the former Bradlees Stores. A beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Sophie was a selfless woman who always put others before herself.
