Sonja Marie Skinner Blalock, 57, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 10, 2021, at her home, under the loving care of her family and Brio Hospice.
Sonja was born to Jack and Gloria Skinner on March 5, 1964, a cold, snowy day in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was the oldest of four children. She had one sister, Jana, and two brothers, Mark and Morgan.
Sonja lived in the small city of Ucon, Idaho, until the age of 11. Her family then moved to the farming community of Coltman, Idaho. She attended Ucon Elementary, Fairview Elementary, Bonneville Junior High, and Bonneville High School. She graduated with the Bonneville Class of 1982.
Sonja married Kevin Azevedo in 1983, and they had two sons, Aaron and Lucas. She and Kevin later divorced. Sonja loved Aaron and Luke with all of her heart. She was blessed with two grandsons, Anthony and Taevyn. They were the light of her life and she loved being a grandma.
Sonja lived in Washington, Connecticut, and Georgia before moving back home to Idaho.
Sonja was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Boyce Skinner; grandparents, Doyle W. Skinner and Lila Viola Avery Skinner, Golden Charles Boyce and Dorothy Mae Peterson Boyce.
She is survived by her children, Aaron Joseph Azevedo (Latesha) of Pocatello, ID and Lucas Damian Azevedo of Greenville, SC; father, Jack W. Skinner of Idaho Falls; siblings; Jana Lee Skinner Smith (Tyrone) of Ucon, ID, Mark J. Skinner (Rebecca) of Nampa, ID, Morgan W. Skinner (Kimberly) of Polson, MT; and grandchildren, Anthony Clay and Taevyn Azevedo.
