Sister Mary Fran Wilkowski, 80, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, June 08, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Sister Fran was born December 26, 1933 in Chicago, daughter of Steve Wilkowski and Helen (Napierala) Wilkowski.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Edward Pendergast of Chicago; a niece, Cindy Lopez; three nephews: Dave Mirowski, Chris Matusak and Kenny Matusak; several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Steve Wilkowski, Jr., two sisters: Dorothy Pendergast and Geraldine Matusak, and a niece, Gerri Adams.
Sister Fran served at St. Mary’s Hospital for 22 years. She spent several years as an elementary school teacher and was the Principal of St. Joseph High School and Good Counsel High School in Chicago. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, reading, bird watching, and spending time with her two cats, Sylvester and Chloe. Her glowing smile will be missed by so many.
