Sintanie Georges Volcy, our beloved mother and grand mother  was called from this life to her heavenly home on July 11th,  2022.  She was born on January 1st, 1934  in Pochette, Asile,  Haiti to the late Denis George and Noristide Cassamajor.   On the day of her birth,  her mother passed away.  Her god’s mother adopted her and raised her to be a loving and respectful person.  She was raised her with strong religious and moral values in the roman catholic traditions.  Later on in life,  she accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined the Southern Baptist Evangelical Church with her family in that community. She was very active in the church throughout her life.  She enjoyed  life and always counted  her blessings.  She was a grateful person .  She used to say:  “I cannot say I was born with misfortune.  If I say this God would punish me. I was born on Sunday, the Lord’s day.  My mom passed away the day I was born, yet I survived.  Throughout my life,  I have never been in jail or in trouble with the law or government officials. So, I am blessed.”

Grand’ma,  as we called her, received all the skills  her community where she grew up offered  so that she could live a productive life.  She was a seamstress and a merchant (business person).  She had a wonderful work ethic.  She always wanted to work even during her declining years.  She would often say:

“Can’t you guys get me a little job to do, I don’t care what it is, I will do whatever as  long as they pay me.  It is very hard when someone does not have a job.”

In 1959, Grand’ma, Sintanie met the love of her life, the late Volcius Volcy.  On December  23rd, 1959 they got married.  Grand’Ma and her husband were married for 37 years until God called her husband home.  From the matrimonial union,  God blessed them with five children, eleven grand children, and two great grand Children. She invested her life in the family.   She always helping and praying for us. Grand’Ma  went home to meet her Savior, yet her life continues in this world through her
