Silvana Soldaini, 88, of West Haven passed away on November 24, 2011. Wife of the late Nello Soldaini. Born in Rome, Italy, daughter of the late Alessandro and Anna Tozzi Varzi. She is survived by her children Iole (Frank) Apicella of West Haven, Anna Soldaini of Italy, Marilyn Gonzalez of New Haven, and Guliano (Rosi) Soldaini of Italy, her grandchildren Kathleen Jackson, Silvana and Angelica Apicella, Cristina and Isabella Soldaini , Linda, Elena, and Manolo Marinucci, her 6 great grandchildren, her sisters Fernanda Stromigioli and Elena Vallone both of Italy. She was predeceased by her brothers Mario and Arnaldo Varzi. Silvana volunteered many hours at Cooperative High School, speaking and teaching Italian to the students. She also loved to play bingo at the West Haven IA Club, going to the casino, and cooking.
