Our loved one, Siegfried Fritz Kessler, age 82, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He has died after an extended illness.
He was born in Jena, Germany but was a long time resident of Shalimar, Florida. He received Law Degrees in Germany at the University of Berlin and in Florida at Florida State University. As an attorney he practiced in Germany for 5 years and in Fort Walton Beach for 40 years. He was the only son of Fritz and Emilie Kessler and was born November 7, 1927.
Siegfried was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and is survived by his wife: Ellen of Shalimar, his children: Thilo and Cindy Herda of Granite Springs, New York, Angela Strachan of Shalimar, Michael and Frances Kessler of Berlin, Germany and Sven and Susan Kessler of Niceville, his grandchildren: Melanie and Chris Scherer of Waterbury, Connecticut, Jeremy Herda of Granite Springs, New York, Stephanie Strachan of Destin, Ian Kessler of Niceville, Monique Kessler of Niceville, his great grandchild: Tyler Scherer of Waterbury, Connecticut.
He was known by his family and friends for his interest in law and for his passion for golf and tennis. His witty sense of humor and love of his family and life will be dearly missed. He always loved sharing a joke over a glass of wine with friends and family.
