Sidney “Sid” Ramond MackieJuly 23, 1954 – April 2, 2021Sid Mackie, 66, of Carriere, MS, formerly of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2021. Sid was born and raised in New Orleans. At a young age, Sid took horseback riding lessons at Audubon Stables and formed lifelong friendships with those associated with Audubon Stables. Sid’s summers were spent at Camp Riva-Lake, a girls’ camp in Winchester, TN, where he worked as a stable hand with the horses. Again, lifelong friendships were made in Winchester, TN, and Sid loved Camp Riva-Lake. Later in life, Sid was instrumental in reopening CRL and was on the Board of graduated from Ecole Classique High School in New Orleans. He attended LSU in Baton Rouge and was a member of the LSU Golden Band from Tigerland.After many years of service, Sid retired from Monroe & Corie, Inc. in 2016. Bill Monroe took a chance and hired Sid to take over a project for him. Sid took care of business and again, a lifelong friendship was formed. Thank you, was preceded in death by his parents, Richard, Sr. and Elizabeth Mackie, and brother, Frank Mackie. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cathy Mackie, and brother-in-law, Richard Bradshaw of Denham Springs, LA; brothers, Henry (Rebecca) of Covington, LA and Richard, Jr. (Diane) of Cooksville, Wisconsin, and several nieces and cousins. Sid’s many friends will also miss him dearly. …
