Mr. Shuler Austin Peele, 73, of Lake City died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center. A native of Orlando, FL, Mr. Peele was the son of the late Dr. Shuler and Christine Austin Peele. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1956, Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC in 1960, and University of Florida Law School in 1963. Upon moving to Lake City, he joined the law firm of Jopling & Darby which later became Darby & Peele where he practiced until 2011. He was active in the Columbia County community, the Rotary Club, the Lake City Bar, the Third Circuit Bar, and the Florida Bar. Mr. Peele was a former member of the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar and a current member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida College of Law.
