Shirley Wayman Guy, of Manassas, VA passed away on July 21, 2016 at age 87. Mrs. Guy was born on June 1, 1929 and grew up in Schenectady, New York. She graduated from Allegheny College in 1951 with a major in Economics and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Alpha Xi Delta , Theta Sigma Sororities, and little sister of Sigma Nu Fraternity. She worked at the Department of the Interior prior to starting a family and later at Piedmont Federal as a loan officer, and finally as business partner for her husband Richard Guy’s art business in Manassas. Mrs. Guy married her husband, Richard Guy, in Schenectady on December 29, 1951. They lived in Westport, CT, Bethesda, MD and, for the past 48 years, in Manassas, VA, where they raised their four children. Family life, raising her children, staying close to all relatives near and far away, was her true joy and passion. Mrs. Guy was an important part of the Manassas community since 1967.
